We interviewed two other contractors before contacting Doug Burns & Associates. Those interviews resulted in anxiety and more research for us. Everything changed when we met Doug Burns, who had been highly recommended by two friends. From the very first meeting, Doug listened carefully to our ideas, needs and budget. Where we had questions, he made excellent design suggestions. Within a couple of weeks, he'd prepared a meticulous architectural plan, budget and time schedule. What is more remarkable is that once work began, it proceeded on schedule, with Doug himself overseeing everything. All of Doug's subcontractors were friendly, meticulous and on time. We felt comfortable leaving the key to our condo with them while we were at work. We spoke with Doug by phone or in person daily and always knew exactly where we were in the project. Most importantly, we are delighted with the results. Doug's custom cabinetry and all the workmanship is so beautiful and high quality. The whole kitchen just looks and feels right. Doug Burns clearly enjoys working with his clients, and we felt that he established a very special rapport with us. He not only created a lovely kitchen; it was a gift to get to know him. Well, I was pleasantly surprised with the way you handled the job from start to finish. You were very professional and easy to work with. You told me it would take 6-61/2 weeks to complete the job. I am very pleased to recommend to you the work of Douglas Burns and his associates. In 2002 Doug completed the remodel of my kitchen and two bathrooms, including plumbing and electrical upgrades to my home. In addition, he installed new windows throughout the house, refaced the brick fireplace and hearth with stone, installed some new base and door moldings, did drywall repairs, and other miscellaneous work. All the work he did was completed as agreed upon and with very high quality workmanship and integrity. I would not hesitate to contract with Doug Burns again in the future. In fact, Doug would be the only person I would call!
